Grizzlies sign Quinten Post to offer sheet, giving Warriors decision to make

Restricted free-agent signings in the NBA are always intriguing, as it puts organizations under a spotlight to show how good they truly feel about their players.

The first RFA decision lies in the hands of the Golden State Warriors after the latest free-agency news on Monday.

Quinten Post has an offer from Memphis

According to ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania, Quinten Post has signed an offer sheet with the Memphis Grizzlies, but the restricted free agent's future still rests with the Warriors, who now have the opportunity to match the contract and retain the promising young center.

Post was drafted in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft and has spent both seasons of his NBA career in Golden State.

Post has served in a backup forward/center role for the Warriors in his first two seasons, and while he's been serviceable, an asking price of $10 million per year may be well out of reach.

Post's career averages for points and rebounds per game sit at 7.8 and 3.8, respectively. His most recent season was the worst of his two, something that may make Golden State hesitant to match the offer.

With the additions of Cameron Boozer and Jerami Grant at the power forward position, Post would likely serve as the backup center for former college standout Zach Edey.

Memphis would have the option in late-game situations to use a tall lineup with both Post and Edey on the floor to make it difficult for opposing teams to score.
