Golden Knights poised for 'earthquake' summer with Dylan Larkin in sights

The Vegas Golden Knights can be satisfied with reaching the Stanley Cup Final last season, where they ultimately fell to the Carolina Hurricanes.

However, contrary to what many might expect, it appears the Sin City franchise is not treating this summer as a vacation, with trade activity still expected.

At least that is what NHL insider Elliotte Friedman suggested on the latest episode of the "32 Thoughts" podcast.

"This is not going to be a quiet summer. There's going to be tremors, and maybe even earthquakes, all the way through. And this is one team that I don't think we've heard the last of. At least I think they'll try," Friedman said.

Golden Knights still active, Dylan Larkin a potential target

The insider did not go so far as to link many specific players to Vegas, but he did mention Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin as a potential trade target for the Golden Knights.

"I still think, Kyle, that they will be trying to do something. Whether it's Larkin or it's something else, I don't think we— it's just not their DNA."

A few days ago, TSN sportscaster Darren Dreger had already identified Dylan Larkin as a strong fit for the Vegas Golden Knights.

However, the speculation did not begin there. It is worth noting that the conversation surrounding Larkin’s potential departure from Detroit started with the player himself.

According to Friedman, the Red Wings captain requested a trade on June 4. The Canadian Press, via TSN, reported that the player shortlisted the Golden Knights, the Minnesota Wild, and the Florida Panthers as his three preferred destinations.
