Lost in another quality start from Cam Schlittler, the New York Yankees' lineup made some history of their own on Monday night.
Using three home runs to defeat the rival Tampa Bay Rays 5-1, the "Bronx Bombers" stayed true to their moniker away from New York. With two from Jose Caballero and the other from Ben Rice, the Yankees scored all five of their runs in the game via the long ball.
But that doesn't even tell the whole story about how much New York relied on the home run. The Yankees managed those five runs off only three hits, each coming from the trifecta of home runs.
New York's bizarre box score made the current 2026 lineup one of only two Yankees teams in history to ever experience recording three or more hits all via the home run in a game. The only other occurrence before Monday was when the 2004 Yankees used only home runs to register five hits 22 years ago on July 15.
Caballero got the party started in the fifth, going yard with two on and one out. He then hit his second dinger of the game, a solo shot and his 10th of the season, on his next at-bat in the eighth.

Caballero finished the night going 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs and four RBIs, doing enough all on his own for the Yankees to secure the much-needed win.
Rice added one more blast for good measure in the ninth, his 25th of the season.

With the win, the Yankees moved their record to 50-40 as they sit three games behind the Rays for the top spot in the American League East standings.
