San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is continuing his standoff with the team.
The former Arizona State wideout is still on the 49ers' "left squad list," meaning the team can essentially stash him without penalty or paying him.
He would have to apply for reinstatement to collect his salary and force the team's hand to move on from him, either with a trade or a release.
However, he just shared in a lengthy social media post that he won't do so because he just doesn't want to deal with the 49ers.
“I will not be reinstating with (the 49ers) nor ever doing any kind of business with them,” Aiyuk wrote (h/t Ari Meirov). “I’m locked in and focused on my opportunity to return to the field this season!”

Under this scenario, the 49ers can leave him on the “Left Squad List.” He would remain on the team, but wouldn’t count against the roster or receive any pay. pic.twitter.com/gz0ptaDRcq
With this decision, he's essentially allowing the 49ers to keep him on the left squad list without paying him.
That gives them zero incentive to try to find a trade partner for him.
Aiyuk reportedly fired his agent at some point during this drama, which could explain some of his behavior.
He has repeatedly flirted with the Washington Commanders, though he seemed to have burned that bridge as well with some recent shots at Commanders star — and former college teammate — Jayden Daniels.
