Who would blame Alexander Zverev for not liking Jannik Sinner after 10th consecutive loss to world's No. 1 player at Wimbledon?

German tennis star Alexander Zverev holds no ill will toward Italian rival Jannik Sinner, but we wouldn't blame him if he did.

Zverev can't find a way to beat the No. 1 player in the world. Figuring out how to do it must be driving him bonkers.

Alexander Zverev extends unwanted streak against Jannik Sinner

Sinner beat Zverev 6-7 (9), 7-6 (2), 6-3, 6-4 during the Wimbledon men's singles final at Center Court of the All England Club in London on Sunday, extending his win streak against Zverev to 10 consecutive matches. The German would love to end it.

"Jannik. I don't really like you anymore," Zverev said jokingly in his on-court interview after the match. "I lost to you nine times in a row."

Of Zverev's many losses to Sinner, this may rank as one of the most painful. Riding the momentum from a 2026 French Open title, it appeared this may be the tournament where he finally beats the world's No. 1 player.

His impressive run at Wimbledon should have provided Zverev with even more confidence. The 29-year-old star won four of his first six matches in the tournament in straight sets. He kept rolling early in his match against Sinner, winning the first set, but then he began to run out of steam and suffered a minor knee injury in the third set.

Zverev slipped and fell while trying to win a break point in the third set when it was tied 3-3. Sinner was a good sport, jogging over to his side of the court and helping Zverev back to his feet.

Zverev certainly appreciated Sinner's act of good sportsmanship. He would also appreciate it if he would let him win every once in a while.

Zverev, who had a 558-233 record entering Sunday's match, has won just one Grand Slam since turning pro in 2013. His struggles against Sinner have prevented him from winning more.

Zverev was clearly joking when he said he doesn't like Sinner anymore, but we wouldn't blame him if he were serious. Sinner always seems to find a way to beat Zverev, which will continue to bother him until he does.
