The New York Giants recently made the rounds for all the wrong reasons.
Abdul Carter called out fellow classmate (and teammate) Jaxson Dart over his public support of President Donald Trump, igniting rumors and controversy on social media.
They ultimately squashed the beef, claiming the story had been overblown and acknowledging that those issues should've been handled internally, not on social media.
In an appearance on "The Domonique Foxworth Show," Giants head coach John Harbaugh dug deeper into the story, explaining that he saw it as an opportunity to come together toward a common goal.
“One-hundred percent, yes, truly an opportunity,” the coach said. “Those are welcome things because those are going to happen. I told the guys, this is not a one-off.”
Harbaugh spoke about how the players handled this situation themselves. He believes this may have been a blessing in disguise, as things will also get tough during the regular season:
“They (the players) laid the ground rules down for the guys and decided how it would be approached going forward,” Harbaugh continued. “So now, when these waves keep coming in from the ocean and crashing against our shore, I think we'll be better prepare to handle them going forward because we'll be expecting them. And we'll be talking about how we're going to deal with them.”
