The Pittsburgh Steelers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers are dancing together once again, but even the best quarterback can't do it alone. To thrive in the NFL, every piece of the puzzle has to fit.
Quarterbacks need good wide receivers and running backs. They need protection. Things have to fall into place.
Not that the Steelers are in ruins or anything. The team made changes during the offseason to improve both their offense and defense. But Rodgers may be limited in one of his most important offensive positions this season.
Are any of the Steelers' wide receivers elite? Perhaps not. Jeremy Fowler of ESPN has released a list of the best wide receivers for 2026, based on a survey of NFL executives, coaches and scouts. Did any Steelers make the cut? Not one.
The top 10 list and honorable mentions tally don't have a single Steelers. The good news for the Steelers is that DK Metcalf appears in the "also receiving votes" section.
During the offseason, the Seattle Seahawks traded Metcalf to the Steelers. Now, Metcalf has signed a four-year contract extension worth $132 million with Pittsburgh.
The Steelers have high hopes for Metcalf. If he can deliver a solid season, there's no reason to think he won't pop into the top wideouts tally next season. It's also worth noting that the Steelers drafted wideout Germie Bernard out of Alabama with their second-round selection, so that will give Rodgers another target.
