Multiple teams are trying to get their hands on LeBron James.
For the fourth time in his career, the four-time NBA champion has the league in a chokehold, as no one wants to blink first and make a big move before he makes his free-agency decision. James is in no rush to sign with a new team, but it seems that he's inching closer to putting pen to paper.
According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, James is leaning toward another homecoming and returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers for his third — and final — tenure.
“From talking to Golden State, from talking to people around the Sixers, from talking to coach Chris Finch with Timberwolves … all these teams that are in the mix, they do think that LeBron is most likely to go back to where it all started in Cleveland,” Fischer said. “That is what other teams that are in on LeBron believe is his most likely outcome.”
Truth be told, that's probably the outcome that makes the most sense for the future Hall of Famer. A homecoming would be the perfect full-circle moment for the greatest player in franchise history, and it's not like the Cavs don't have a great roster.
They knocked on the door of a return to the NBA Finals this past season. Bringing James back home would most likely make them the team to beat in the East, even at this point in his career.
