Rain cancels NASCAR Cup qualifying at North Wilkesboro; Ryan Blaney on pole for Window World 450

Ryan Blaney will lead the NASCAR Cup Series field to the green flag at North Wilkesboro Speedway on Sunday after rain canceled Saturday's qualifying session, forcing NASCAR to set the lineup by the rulebook. 

Blaney, who won last week at Atlanta, will be joined on the front row by Ty Gibbs. 

NASCAR is still drying the racetrack and will host a 50-minute Cup Series practice session at 6:30 p.m. ET, with coverage on TNT and PRN. 

How the lineup shakes out

Blaney, Gibbs, Christopher Bell, Carson Hocevar and Tyler Reddick make up the top five starters, with Erik Jones, points leader Denny Hamlin, Shane van Gisbergen, Chris Buescher and Chase Elliott completing the top 10. 

Other notable starters include William Byron in 15th, Daniel Suarez in 17th, Brad Keselowski in 23rd, Bubba Wallace in 26th and defending Cup Series champion Kyle Larson in 27th. Chad Finchum will start last (37th) on Sunday. 

Sunday's Window World 450 is slated for a green flag shortly after 7 p.m. ET, with coverage on TNT, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. There is, however, a slight chance of rain and potential thunderstorms in the area that could affect the race. 

Sunday's race is the first Cup Series points race at North Wilkesboro since 1996.
