Key Storylines to Watch in 2026 Training Camp

Seattle Seahawks Title Defense Under New Ownership
The Seahawks enter camp as defending Super Bowl champions, but with their eyes on the prize once again, they turn over a new leaf. With significant off-field changes following the franchise's recent record sale, all eyes will be on how the new ownership group interacts with the team and whether the core roster can sustain last year’s success.

Los Angeles Rams Defensive Additions and Aaron Donald Speculation
The Rams made a blockbuster move for edge rusher Myles Garrett and now face rumors that future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald could come out of retirement and return. Donald has been spotted working out at the Rams' facilities, and a decision is expected to be made during camp. Pairing him with Garrett would create one of the most formidable defensive fronts in the league.

Rookie Watch
Several rookies are expected to make early noise, such as Panthers Offensive Tackle Monroe Freeling.
Philadelphia Eagles rookie wide receiver Makai Lemon has been cleared for camp and is ready to develop. Other high-profile rookies across the league will battle for playing time during the first weeks of camp.

Quarterback Battles
While many teams have clear starters, several quarterback rooms still have competition for the 2026 season, including the
Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons' battle for QB1.

Training camp is where roster battles are won and lost, narratives begin to form, and the foundation for the 2026 season is laid. With the Seahawks kicking it off and the rest of the league joining them soon, fans can expect daily updates on standout performances, injuries, and depth charts becoming more evident over the next several weeks.
