Following Connor Bedard's five-year contract extension, the young NHL star has made it public that he wants Patrick Kane to sign with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Bedard believes that Kane returning to Chicago would enhance the team's value. Will the Blackhawks unite their star of the present with their former star of the past? The idea is certainly appealing to Bedard, who would relish playing alongside Kane as the two would be a dangerous duo for the Blackhawks.
Bedard praised Kane, stating, "I don't know what I can say to persuade his decision, but obviously we'd all be so excited to have a player like that, but also a guy like that."
Kane was a vital player who helped the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup in 2010, 2013 and 2015. The 37-year-old recorded 1,225 points and 446 goals and 779 assists across 1,161 regular-season games.
During his tenure in Chicago, Kane also recorded 138 points with 52 goals and 86 assists across 141 Stanley Cup Playoff games.

Bedard believes that Kane would help bolster the Blackhawks offense while also being a leader for the team that contains a young roster. He also claimed that Kane returning ''would be incredible,'' considering he grew up idolizing him and would love the opportunity to learn and play alongside the future Hall of Famer.
Kane would provide the Blackhawks with a lethal offensive spark on the power play. He logged 57 points across 67 games for the Detroit Red Wings in the 2025-26 season.
Learning from a franchise legend would be indispensable for Bedard and the team's growth as they are looking to improve their offense, which ranked 30th in the NHL this past season. Overall, veteran experience as an established playmaker and cherished icon in Chicago would generate significant buzz for the team and its fans.
