The 'NFL catch-leaders since 1990' quiz

Happy 60th birthday to nine-time Pro Bowler, nine-time 1,000-yard receiver and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame All-1990’s team, Tim Brown!

Brown was selected by the then-Los Angeles Raiders with the sixth-overall pick in the 1988 NFL Draft out of Notre Dame. As a rookie he caught 43 passes for 725 yards and five touchdowns, but that would be his most productive season until 1993. He was voted to two Pro Bowls before the ‘93 season, but that was his first of his nine-consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.

Brown’s most productive season of his career came in 1997, when he caught league-high 104 passes for 1,408 yards to go with five touchdowns.

While he’s seen his single-season records for receptions and yards fall to the likes of Brock Bowers and Davante Adams, he remains the franchise’s all-time leader in receptions (1,070), yards (14,734) and TD catches (99). 

Brown played 16 of his 17 seasons with the Raiders, finishing out his career under former head coach Jon Gruden in Tampa Bay in 2004 before hanging up his cleats.
