Consistent production earns Grant Delpit a contract extension from Browns

Even with their training camp now open, the Cleveland Browns are continuing to lock up key members of their defense. 

In an effort to keep their longest-tenured players in Cleveland for the foreseeable future, the Browns are signing safety Grant Delpit to a three-year extension. As reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, Delpit's deal is worth about $16 million annually and includes $35 million in guaranteed money.

Delpit's extension comes a day after Cleveland also awarded a new contract to cornerback Denzel Ward — he agreed to sign for two more years for $62.2 million in total and $52.3 million guaranteed. 

Both Delpit and Ward will continue as staples of a Browns defense that embarks on life without Myles Garrett, who Cleveland traded to the Los Angeles Rams earlier in the summer in exchange for Jared Verse.
