LeBron James responds to Sam Darnold’s take on his 76ers move

The King has acknowledged Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold defending his name.

LeBron James’ decision to take his talents to the Philadelphia 76ers has sparked criticism for joining another loaded team in pursuit of an NBA ring.

But Darnold isn’t buying that notion, saying that at James’ age, the four-time NBA Most Valuable Player should feel no guilt about whichever direction he chooses at this stage of his legendary career.

James apparently saw the “Hard Knocks” clip in which Darnold shared his thoughts on his move to the 76ers and sent a message to return the support.

“Good luck this season guys,” James wrote in an Instagram Story post on Wednesday.

Darnold and the Seahawks could surely use some luck in the 2026 NFL season, as they’ll have a target on their backs as the reigning Super Bowl champions. Not many expected Seattle to win it all last season, but Darnold proved to be just the quarterback the team needed to get it back to the top of the league.

Unlike James, Darnold should have several years left in his playing career. At just 29 years old, the former USC Trojans star has successfully rebuilt his career after early struggles with the New York Jets and bouncing around multiple teams before finally finding a home with the Seahawks.
