Haynes King's walkoff touchdown gives Hall of Fame Game some surprising excitement

In the grand scheme of things, you are going to forget about this by Friday. But this is still a huge night for King in his quest to try to make the Panthers roster.

Aside from the touchdown, he had an outstanding game with both his arm and legs.

He completed 21-of-34 passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 39 yards on three attempts, including the game-winning touchdown. 

That sort of production, as well as a nearly flawless two-minute drill to win the game, is the sort of thing that gets the attention of coaching staffs. And even if it is not the Panthers coaching staff, somebody else might be paying attention to that and see it as a reason to give King an opportunity if he does not make the Panthers roster.

Bryce Young is locked in as the Panthers starter, with veteran Kenny Pickett in the driver's seat to the backup. But King certainly made a strong first impression on Thursday. 

Between his performance, as well as the strong showing from Cardinals rookie Carson Beck, it was a big night for the rookie quarterbacks.
