Ty Gibbs holds off Christopher Bell, wins Iowa Corn 350

Ty Gibbs looked every bit like a NASCAR Cup Series veteran on Sunday at Iowa Speedway.

The 23-year-old scored his second career Cup Series win in the Iowa Corn 350 after a savvy pit call from crew chief Tyler Allen to take only two tires on the final pit stop got him in front of Christopher Bell.

Gibbs held off Bell over the race's final run and hung on for his second victory of the season. Bell got to Gibbs' back bumper multiple times in the closing laps but was unable to complete the pass.

"Just had to keep my head down and stay in it," Gibbs told USA Network.

It's the seventh runner-up finish of the season for Bell, who also finished runner-up in the Brickyard 400.

"I don't know what else to say," Bell said.

Bell, polesitter Ryan Blaney, Josh Berry and Denny Hamlin rounded out the top five, with Chase Briscoe, Ross Chastain, AJ Allmendinger, William Byron and Austin Dillon completing the top 10.

Notable results

Other notable finishers include Connor Zilisch in 11th, Bubba Wallace in 12th, Joey Logano in 14th, Chase Elliott in 15th and Ryan Preece in 20th.

Carson Hocevar finished three laps down in 31st after valve train issues, while Kyle Larson finished 18 laps down in 33rd after contact with Alex Bowman. Bowman, Erik Jones and Tyler Reddick finished 34th, 35th and 36th, respectively.
