Josh Berry building momentum at pivotal point in NASCAR career

It's no secret that Josh Berry is racing for his NASCAR Cup Series career at the moment. 

After being informed that he won't return to the Wood Brothers in 2027, the second half of 2026 has essentially turned into a resume-builder for Berry, who earned his first career win at Las Vegas last year but has struggled to produce results since. 

The Hendersonville, Tenn., native is 30th in points through 23 races this season but has consecutive top 10s after a seventh-place run in the Brickyard 400 and a strong fourth-place finish Sunday at Iowa Speedway.

Sunday's race was the first top five of the season for Berry and his first overall since he finished runner-up to Ryan Blaney at New Hampshire in September 2025. 

"We just unloaded good," Berry told USA Network. "Felt like we left a little bit out there in qualifying. Definitely had great long run pace throughout the race. Needed it to run long enough to show it, and we were finally able to do that. Definitely a good day. We just gotta keep pushing, I think we got a lot of good tracks coming up."

Richmond, New Hampshire and Daytona should be solid tracks for Berry and the No. 21 group, who can't make the Chase but are trying to end Berry's tenure with the organization on a high note.
