Stephen Curry has been a member of the Golden State Warriors ever since being selected seventh overall in the 2009 NBA Draft.
Curry has gone on to win four NBA titles, two NBA MVP awards, and he has become the NBA’s all-time leader in made three-pointers. As he reaches the end of his storied career, questions have swirled about whether or not he will play somewhere besides Golden State.
However, that doesn’t appear to be the case, at least according to comments made on Tuesday by Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy.
“There are two things I’m confident about with Steph. He really, really wants to win and he wants to finish his career as a Warrior. I don’t think that changes tomorrow, August 29th, start of the season, middle of the season, end of next season. Those things are going to be consistent,” Dunleavy said, via Anthony Slater of ESPN.

On the extension: "I'm pretty confident Steph will finish his career (with the Warriors). Ultimately it's his call, his decision, whether that's allowing his contract to run out and…
Dunleavy also shot down the idea of Curry retiring anywhere other than Golden State.
“He hasn’t. That’s always been the message (to stay with the Warriors). That’s always been what he’s discussed. I think that’s tracking quite well,” Dunleavy said, via Anthony Slater.
Curry became extension-eligible in August, and reports surfaced previously that he was going to play “hardball” with Golden State in hopes of putting a more competitive roster together. Then, ESPN’s Shams Charania said there was “mutual interest” in Curry signing an extension with the franchise.
All in all, it’s not surprising that Dunleavy expects Curry to finish his career in Golden State, whenever that may be. Stephen Curry is entering his 18th season, and he turns 39 years old in March.
