Saints hit with concerning injury to rookie WR Jordyn Tyson

Even if it's only a minor blip, the setback could force Moore to play things safe with Tyson during the preseason so he's ready to go by the time the regular season arrives. But that would also mean forgoing potentially valuable preseason reps as Tyson navigates his first NFL season. Less than ideal, indeed.

If Tyson is limited the rest of camp, that could give other rookie wideouts including Barion Brown, a standout during the opening stage of the summer session, and Bryce Lance an opportunity to showcase why they deserve regular-season reps.

On Thursday, 2022 first-rounder Chris Olave hyped up Brown to reporters, comparing him to Rashid Shaheed, the former Saints wideout and standout kick returner traded to the Seattle Seahawks last season. Lance has also had a promising camp and had one of the better plays of Thursday's joint practice when he beat former Heisman winner Travis Hunter for a big gain.

The Saints have promise at the skill positions, but they won't know their full potential on offense unless Tyson is 100 percent. It's a troubling omen that even before his first preseason game his availability is already in doubt.
