Rich Eisen reveals the NFL's best game-wreckers entering 2026 season

Rich Eisen has unveiled his top 10 NFL game-wrecker power rankings entering the 2026 season. His list included elite pass rushers, explosive receivers and one quarterback who can ruin a defensive coordinator’s afternoon in several different ways.

The biggest statement came at No. 1, where Eisen selected Los Angeles Rams defensive end Myles Garrett over Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

Myles Garrett tops Rich Eisen’s power rankings

Eisen described a “game wrecker” as someone capable of changing an entire contest in only a few snaps. That could mean a strip-sack, a long touchdown or one ridiculous individual play that turns a comfortable lead into a four-alarm fire.

When it came time to name the best in football, Eisen did not bother building suspense.

“Number one’s Myles Garrett. End of story.”

Garrett’s move to Los Angeles has helped push the Rams into the Super Bowl conversation. Eisen believes the addition of the dominant pass rusher is a major reason expectations have climbed so quickly.

“Which is why everybody’s talking about the Rams are going to win the Super Bowl this year.”

Eisen then imagined the chaos Los Angeles could create if retired Rams legend Aaron Donald eventually decided to return.

“If Aaron Donald comes back, it’s Myles Donald. It’s Aaron Garrett. That’s what’s so stupid about the possibility of this happening.”

Eisen was not reporting that a Donald comeback is imminent. Still, pairing him with Garrett would be comically unfair to offensive linemen and anyone standing behind them.

Josh Allen finishes second behind Garrett

Allen was the only quarterback included in the top 10. Eisen revisited his “Mandalorian quarterback” nickname for the Bills star while describing the variety of ways Allen can dismantle a defense.

“He’s got different weapons to beat you, whether it’s rockets or freaking lasers, fire, whatever it is. He’s got it. He’s going to blowtorch you or take you out.”

Allen finished last season with the same number of rushing touchdowns as the NFL’s leading rusher, giving Eisen another reason to place him ahead of every offensive player on the list.

Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase followed Allen at No. 3. Puka Nacua landed fourth, while Eisen combined Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs into one entry at No. 5 after admitting he could not choose between the two running backs.

Eisen’s full rankings were:

  1. Myles Garrett
  2. Josh Allen
  3. Ja’Marr Chase
  4. Puka Nacua
  5. Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs
  6. Will Anderson Jr.
  7. Maxx Crosby
  8. Jaxon Smith-Njigba
  9. Saquon Barkley
  10. T.J. Watt

The final selection prompted a discussion about Micah Parsons, who did not make the cut. Eisen acknowledged Parsons possesses the talent to take over a game but chose Watt because he has produced at that level for longer.

“Micah’s a game wrecker. He can wreck it. That’s the only one I was thinking, like, what do I do here? But T.J. Watt’s done it longer.”

Any top-10 list will create arguments, especially when it combines offensive and defensive players. Eisen, however, sounded completely settled on the player at the top.

“Myles Garrett is the No. 1 game wrecker in the National Football League. Hard to argue.”

Eisen’s rankings span nearly every position, showing that there is no single formula for taking over an NFL game. Several notable omissions will fuel debate, but Garrett sitting atop the list was one choice Eisen refused to second-guess. Now the Rams’ newest defensive force gets the chance to prove him right.
