Sean McVay on NFL players returning to CFB: 'I feel like I took a freakin' gummy'

Nobody seems to like the recent trends in college football and college athletics as a whole. 

We've got schools (read: Texas Tech) that were actively fighting the NCAA to preserve the eligibility of a quarterback with a gambling addiction who had bet on his own team.

Some players, thanks to the transfer portal, are spending every season of their college career at a different school. Recruits are getting paid millions via NIL deals before they've even stepped on the field.

Now the NFL is getting involved, sort of. Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers are making noise by welcoming back players who had tried to make it at the NFL level but were cut in OTAs or in training camp. However, the SEC is among the conferences to ban players like this.

“They are going to play for you or someone else," Kiffin recently said. 

Whether or not these transactions hold up is another story altogether, but right now, there are players who wore NFL jerseys this summer getting ready to suit up to play again at the college level.

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay was recently asked about NFL camp players heading back to the college ranks after getting cut.

“I feel like I took a freakin’ gummy," was McVay's response to the madness.
