Insider suggests Cowboys will make another addition before Week 1

On paper, the Dallas Cowboys are one of the most-improved teams in the NFL.

They went the extra mile to overhaul their defense after fielding one of the worst units in the league last season.

With new defensive coordinator Christian Parker in town, their secondary should be much better at limiting big plays, though they might still need some help.

According to ESPN insider Todd Archer, America's Team may not be settled at cornerback. In his updated 53-man roster projection, he predicted they'll make another addition at the position.

The Cowboys might still add a veteran cornerback

“DaRon Bland, Cobie Durant, Shavon Revel Jr., veteran not on roster, Devin Moore,” Archer wrote. 

That spells trouble for Ameer Speed and Trikweze Bridges, though they were always long shots to crack the roster.

“Depth is a worry beyond the top three. While Revel has had an excellent camp, he has to show he can do it in the regular season. The fourth corner might not be on the roster at the moment. Adding a veteran free agent or making a small trade for one is not out of the question,” explained Archer.

The Cowboys already worked out Adoree' Jackson, who played for Parker with the Philadelphia Eagles last season, though with mixed results.

They could also be in the mix to trade for disgruntled Pittsburgh Steelers star Joey Porter Jr., or given their recent negotiations with the Green Bay Packers, they might want to get a hold of Keisean Nixon or Carrington Valentine.

The Kansas City Chiefs might also make Kristian Fulton available, giving them a high-upside player who just needs to stay healthy. 

They can also wait until final roster-cut day to dip their toes in the free agent pool, though it's unlikely that they will find a starting-caliber player at that point.
