Sean McVay clears the air on Puka Nacua rumors after latest trade

While everyone's still waiting on Aaron Donald, another Los Angeles Rams move sparked league-wide speculation.

They brought back wide receiver Tutu Atwell in a late-camp trade with the Miami Dolphins.

The move itself didn't say much, but with uncertainty surrounding Puka Nacua and whether he'll be suspended for his off-field issues, some wondered whether it hinted at discipline coming for the star pass catcher.

That's why head coach Sean McVay had to clear the air about this situation, stating it was completely unrelated to Nacua's.

The Rams still don't know if Puka Nacua will be suspended

"It had nothing to do with that," McVay told the media. "It was exclusively a guy we were familiar with... We're familiar with Tutu. He adds depth. It gives us an opportunity to be able to have that speed element, and he can do some different things. It had nothing to do with anything other than just adding depth to the receiver room."

Of course, the fact that he didn't say whether Nacua will be suspended didn't do much to shut down speculation, either.

Atwell won a Super Bowl with the Rams as a rookie, so his familiarity with the offense is obviously a plus.

As for whether he'll move the needle, that seems unlikely for as long as Nacua and Davante Adams are there.

The start of the season is just around the corner, and the Rams will travel to Australia to kick off the campaign against the San Francisco 49ers, so it shouldn't be much longer before they get some clarity on their superstar wideout.
