Brett Bateman continues to be an impactful sparkplug for the Blue Jays

There's no stopping rookie Brett Bateman, who continues to be an explosive sparkplug for the Toronto Blue Jays. 

In the Blue Jays' 4-3 comeback victory over the Seattle Mariners on Saturday, Bateman recorded a walk and a hit and scored a critical run that helped cut the Mariners' lead to 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth. 

With two outs and the bases loaded, Mariners reliever Eduard Bazardo unloaded a wild pitch to Cal Raleigh that allowed Myles Straw to score easily from third. 

But the inning didn't stop there, as Bateman bolted all the way from second to score. His speed (28.9 feet per second) has been a major asset and he's continued to utilize it effectively. 

In the Blue Jays' 8-1 victory over the Mariners on Friday, Bateman went 2-for-5 with a run scored as well as a stolen base. Since making his debut with the Blue Jays on Aug. 7, Bateman is batting .329 with six RBI, 25 hits, two stolen bases and a .761 OPS.
