Veteran QB Josh Dobbs puts up solid performance in Lions' preseason finale

Making the most out of his opportunity to play, Josh Dobbs showed he's still a capable NFL quarterback on Saturday. 

Dobbs impressed while starting for the Detroit Lions in the team's final preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts. 

Josh Dobbs enjoyed a solid performance in the Lions' preseason finale 

Dobbs completed 12-of-15 passes for 110 yards with a pair of touchdown passes and no interceptions. He posted a quarterback rating of 139.0 and even kept the ball to scramble once. 

Josh Dobbs rebounded after struggling in his last game 

Dobbs' performance comes a week after he put up a less than stellar showing when in the game during a 17-13 victory overt the Washington Commanders. In that game, the journeyman completed only 7-of-12 pass attempts for just 74 yards, equating to a rating of 41.7. To his credit, he did use his legs much more in that game, running for 53 yards and a score. 

The Lions signed Dobbs to a one-year contract worth up to $1.425 million with $475,000 fully guaranteed. Detroit brought Dobbs in as a serviceable backup behind Pro Bowler Jared Goff.
