Seahawks' Terrion Arnold saga takes predictable turn

The Seattle Seahawks made the somewhat surprising decision to sign Terrion Arnold.

The Detroit Lions released their former first-round pick as he dealt with a legal situation off the field, but it didn't take long before multiple teams reached out.

However, that doesn't mean he's in the clear. Even if he avoids jail time, the league can still suspend him for violating its personal conduct policy.

That's why it's not much of a surprise to hear that the NFL will place him on the Commissioner's exempt list once he finally gets his deal, according to ESPN insider Adam Schefter.

Terrion Arnold will face discipline

"New Seahawks CB Terrion Arnold will be placed on the commissioner’s exempt list once the league receives his contract, per the NFL," Schefter shared on his X account.

The Seahawks were likely aware of this situation when they hosted him for a workout and offered him a contract.

Mike Macdonald's team will have to trim its roster to 53 players by Sunday at 6:00 p.m. ET. However, given that he's on the exempt list, he won't count against that total.

While on the list, he'll be able to attend the facility and participate in meetings, but he can't practice or play.

There's still no word on how long he'll be on the list, though it will most likely depend on his ongoing investigation and legal case.

The Seahawks also signed controversial veteran CB Trevon Diggs, so they're clearly not satisfied with their depth at the position.
