Bears' Tyson Bagent builds chemistry with reserve wide receivers

Chicago Bears quarterback Tyson Bagent built chemistry with reserve wide receivers Maurice Alexander and Zavion Thomas in a 24-15 win over the Tennessee Titans in the final preseason game. Bagent completed 16 passes in 17 attempts for 208 yards and two touchdowns against Tennessee.

Alexander led the Bears with seven receptions for 50 yards and a TD. Thomas had a Bears-high 140 yards on five receptions with one TD. Bagent and Thomas connected on a 97-yard TD, with the latter showing off his 4.28 40-yard dash time.

In addition to the 97-yard TD reception, Thomas had a 39-yard punt return and a 22-yard kickoff return versus Tennessee on Saturday. Bagent praised Thomas during his postgame news conference for his impressive debut.

"I think that was the very first play in the NFL for Zavion Thomas, greatest start in NFL history!" Bagent said. "Huge confidence boost. Coming off the first preseason game."

Thomas can provide an already explosive Bears offense with one of the fastest players in the NFL. Alexander and Thomas had the opportunity to thrive against the Titans with most of the Bears' two-deep WR depth chart sitting out in the final preseason game.
