Whit Weeks, LSU aren't worried about the heat on Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss

The LSU Tigers know they're going to be heading into a viper pit in Week 3 of the 2026 college football season.

Contests between the Tigers and the Ole Miss Rebels have been heated in the past, but there are going to be few environments on earth more hostile than what the Tigers are going to be walking into at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Talk about "Death Valley," right?

Ole Miss is going to be rowdy because, of course, it was LSU head coach Lane Kiffin who slighted the Rebels just before the College Football Playoff last season in favor of a new opportunity in Baton Rouge.

He's going to be public enemy No. 1, but this is not a new phenomenon for Kiffin, who has a history of going places and making people mad at him when he unceremoniously leaves.

Perhaps that's why linebacker Whit Weeks doesn't seem at all worried about whether or not his head coach, or Kiffin's team, by extension, can handle the heat on Saturday.

Weeks was asked on Tuesday if he's thought at all about how Kiffin will be received in Oxford.

“I haven’t really thought about that,” the linebacker responded (h/t On3). “But, I mean, I know he’s going to get it. I know they don’t like him up there. But he’s prepared for that. I mean, it is what it is. He’s done it before in his career. I know he’s more prepared than anybody.”
