Travis Bazzana's strong rookie campaign helping fuel the Guardians' postseason push

Cleveland Guardians' second baseman Travis Bazzana produced a strong rookie campaign, which has helped fuel the team's postseason push.

In his last 10 games, the 24-year-old has recorded six multi-hit games, five home runs and 14 RBI, illustrating the clutch impact he's provided during a critical stretch.

The Guardians sit a half-game back of the AL Central leading Chicago White Sox. That could change by Wednesday evening, as the teams wrap up series against each other during the afternoon.

Bazzana's offensive tear has been huge for Cleveland. In the Guardians' 7-6 walk off victory against the White Sox on Tuesday, Bazzana hit two home runs, his second multi-home run game this season.

Travis Bazzana standing tall among primary second baseman

Overall this season, he is batting .252 with 14 home runs, 19 stolen bases and 104 hits. He could surpass the 15-15 club with two weeks still remaining in the regular season, and is on pace to collect 15-plus home runs with 20 stolen bases.

He has been a sparkplug in September, boasting a .389 batting average with a .500 OBP with a .806 SLG and a 1.306 OPS and four home runs with 13 RBI. As a primary top five second baseman in MLB, he's held his own up against Chase Meridoth, Luis Arraez and Kody Clemens.

His dominance deserves more praise, as his 113 wRC+ is the third-best among primary second basemen. As well, his 14 home runs are tied for second on the team with Chase DeLauter. After starting this season in Triple-A, he made his MLB debut in late April and has emerged as an elite young talent since then.
