Blue Jays' Brett Bateman continues to show he's an elite leadoff hitter

Toronto Blue Jays rookie hitting phenom Brett Bateman has excelled as the team's leadoff hitter. He has recorded 46 hits across his first 34 at-bats in the big leagues.

Of those 46 hits, 38 have been singles, and in the history of the AL, only seven players have produced more than him in the same number of games.

On Sept. 3 against the Cleveland Guardians, he collected three singles that helped him reach the 30-hit mark at a fast-paced record of 22 games.

Bateman's contact ability has surpassed expectations, and he's served as the Blue Jays' most efficient hitter since being acquired through the Kevin Gausman trade.

Brett Bateman's game-changing offense has made him a revelation for the Blue Jays

In his last seven games, Bateman has batted .345 with 10 hits and four RBI. He has also remarkably already generated 14 multi-hit games this season, since making his debut on Aug. 7.

In addition, Bateman also hit well against southpaws, batting .360 (18-for-50), which has been another compelling asset of his game as a young hitter. The 24-year-old is boasting a .333 batting average with two home runs, 11 RBI, a .400 OBP and a .828 OPS.

Bateman has continued to come up clutch for the Blue Jays, collecting 41 hits across his first 30 games. He's ranked second behind Bo Bichette (45) for the most hits across a Blue Jays hitter's first 30 career games.
