The Kansas City Chiefs didn't have first-round pick Mansoor Delane on the field in Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts, and he wasn't the only notable absence.
Fellow 2025 first-round selection Josh Simmons missed his second game of the season with an injury, and unlike Delane, it might be a while before they get him back.
The Ohio State product is dealing with a back injury, and it sounds more like he's week-to-week than day-to-day.
According to head coach Andy Reid, the team will try to ease him back into practice next week.
"Josh [Simmons] won't practice today," Reid told the media. "He is getting better, but he won't go today. Tomorrow, he's gonna do some stuff. ...Gonna ease him back in."
Undrafted free agent rookie Kahlil Benson has done an outstanding job in Simmons' absence.
It's gotten to the point where the Chiefs might want to try moving Simmons to right tackle once he's back to full strength. Otherwise, Benson might take that spot, which is his natural position, and hold onto a starting spot instead of being demoted to the bench.
Whatever the case, Simmons' availability issues dating back to his rookie season should be a major concern for Reid's team.
Patrick Mahomes seems close to 100 percent and had a vintage Mahomes performance in Week 2, but he's still coming off a major injury, and the Chiefs can't afford to have a revolving door at left tackle.
