Cam Skattebo had an emotional reaction to Jaxson Dart's injury

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart is out for the season, and running back Cam Skattebo is taking it very hard.

Skattebo spoke to reporters on Thursday about Dart’s injury, and he had an emotional take.

It sucked,” Skattebo said. “I talked to him on the sidelines a little bit. He’s my best friend so it’s a little emotional for me… But we got to move on.”

Dart left the game in the first quarter on Monday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams after he was sandwiched between two defenders ( video here).

The initial diagnosis was a sprained MCL, but it turned out to be worse than that, with Dart suffering injuries to his MCL, PCL and meniscus, causing him to undergo surgery.

Dart and Skaettebo were both selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, with Dart going in the first round and Skaettebo going in the fourth round, and they have grown close with each other.

The Giants are facing Cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans at home in Week 3, and the pla is for Jameis Winston to start at QB, although John Harbaugh left the door open for another QB to be added to the roster sometime soon.
