Emmanuel Acho goes off on Packers HC Matt LaFleur amid hot seat talk

The Green Bay Packers are now 1-2 after a 35-14 blowout loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night at Lambeau Field.

Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. made his first start of the year, and he finished with 256 yards and a score. Falcons running back Bijan Robinson ran wild, going for 194 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Drake London had nine catches for 194 yards in a dominant performance.

As such, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur found his name in hot seat conversations, and former NFL player Emmanuel Acho laid into the Green Bay coach on his "Speakeasy" show.

"He shouldn't be on the hot seat. Matt LaFleur should be on no seat. Matt LaFleur has peaked with the Green Bay Packers," Acho said. "We have not seen this team get better.

"The players are a reflection of their coach," Acho continued. "The Matt LaFleur experiment, it has come to an end."

"Matt LaFleur shouldn't be on the hot seat, he shouldn't HAVE A SEAT!"

Will the Packers move on from Matt LaFleur?

LaFleur now has a 77-42-1 record as he is in his eighth year as the Packers head coach.

The Packers have made the playoffs six times during his stint, though he has a 3-6 postseason record, and Green Bay has not won a postseason game in the past two years.

Yet, the Packers gave LaFleur an extension in January 2026, so that is an obstacle they will need to deal with if they do want to move on from the head coach.

The Packers lost to the Minnesota Vikings by 17 points in Week 1, and the win came in Week 2 in a 20-17 overtime victory over the New York Jets, so they are a field goal away from being winless.

The Packers face the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4, but right now, things are looking murky, at best, for LaFleur.
