Giants All-Pro LB appears to suffer serious knee injury

New York Giants All-Pro linebacker Brian Burns left Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans in the fourth quarter with an apparent serious right knee injury.

The Giants linebacker stayed on the MetLife Stadium turf and struck the ground with his fist while trainers attended to him. Offensive linemen Aaron Stinnie and Andrew Thomas supported him as he left the field, and he could not put weight on the right leg.

Staff focused on the knee before Burns went straight to the locker room instead of the medical tent.

Burns had been limited all week after a left ankle sprain in the fourth quarter of last Monday’s loss at the Los Angeles Rams. He missed every practice on the short week, was listed as questionable, and still played in a situational role on a wet field.

A second-team All-Pro last season with 16.5 sacks, Burns has not missed a game since New York acquired him in 2024. The Giants entered the afternoon with one sack through two games.

No official diagnosis had been announced late in the fourth quarter. Further evaluation is expected after the game.
