Oregon shares notable update on Dante Moore after his on-field scare

Oregon has provided an update on Dante Moore following his scary on-field collision.

The Ducks quarterback was rushed to the hospital during the first half of Saturday’s game against the USC Trojans at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in L.A., Calif. Moore took a late shot from USC linebacker Desman Stephens II while sliding for a first down. Stephens was flagged for targeting for the hit that knocked Moore out of the game.

Moore was carted off the field and into an ambulance that transported him to L.A. General County Hospital. Initial reports indicated Moore had movement in all of his extremities.

Oregon confirmed Sunday that Moore had sustained a concussion. But the good news for Ducks supporters was that their QB was not dealing with much else after further testing.

“Dante sustained a concussion in last night’s game but fortunately his MRI and CT scans came back clean and he did not suffer any additional injuries,” Oregon’s statement read. “Every concussion is different and we are going to move forward with an abundance of caution to ensure we make the best decisions for Dante and his future. We are extremely appreciative of our entire medical staff and the medical staffs at USC and LA General County Hospital for their quick and thorough action in making sure Dante received the very best care possible.”

The Ducks held on to beat the Trojans without Moore, whose status for Oregon’s next game against UCLA is in question.

Moore left Saturday’s game after going 8/10 for 77 yards. QB Dylan Raiola replaced Moore and threw for 289 yards and 2 touchdowns, leading the Ducks to a 41-27 victory.
