The Buffalo Bills had some uncertainty surrounding Keon Coleman heading into their matchup with the New England Patriots. Head coach Joe Brady doesn't sound particularly worried.
Coleman was limited during Friday's practice, but Brady didn't leave much room for speculation when asked about the wide receiver's status during a press conference on Friday afternoon.
"He'll be good to go," Brady said. "He'll be ready to rock for the game."
That's about as definitive as an injury update gets.
Coleman's availability is good news for a Buffalo offense preparing for an AFC East matchup with New England.
While Brady sounded confident about Coleman, the Bills aren't getting the same certainty elsewhere on the roster.
Christian Benford did not practice this week and will be listed as questionable. Brady said Buffalo will continue evaluating him leading up to the game rather than making an early decision.
"We have a lot of time until game time," Brady said.
The decision won't simply come from the coaching staff, either. Brady explained that Buffalo's medical staff, coaches and the player will all be involved before determining whether an injured player is ready.
Ray Davis is also questionable after being limited over the past couple of days, while T.J. Sanders is doubtful as he works his way back following an appendectomy.
Coleman being available removes at least one concern for a Bills offense heading into an important divisional game. Buffalo still has other injuries to sort through before kickoff, but Brady's comments make it clear the team isn't treating Coleman as a game-time mystery.
Unless something changes between now and kickoff, Josh Allen should have one of his key receiving options on the field against New England. That's especially important in a divisional matchup where familiarity can make games tighter than expected.
The Bills don't need to spend the weekend wondering whether Coleman can go. Based on Brady's comments, they can prepare with the expectation that he'll be part of the offense.
