The New York Giants appeared to be headed for disaster following Jaxson Dart's injury in Week 2. Jump ahead to today and the team is 3-1 after a thrilling victory at home over the Arizona Cardinals.
Jameis Winston had a vintage performance with 250 yards and three touchdowns, along with two interceptions. Malik Nabers was his favorite target with six receptions for 112 yards and a touchdown.
Yet the 36-24 final score hides the true excitement at the end of the game. The Cardinals were in the red zone in the waning seconds, trailing by a score of 30-24. The offense was facing a fourth down with the game on the line.
That is when Deonte Banks stepped up in heroic fashion.
He read Jacoby Brissett the whole way and took an interception 98 yards to the end zone to cap off the victory for the Giants.

Banks is a former first-round pick of the Giants who did not have an interception the past two seasons. He made up for that with the game-sealing play Sunday.
The Giants are now 3-1 and sit alone atop the NFC East division. The team takes on the Washington Commanders next week, who are desperately hoping to get Jayden Daniels back on the field. Even if he does return, the Giants have a great shot at a 4-1 start under surprising circumstances.
Perhaps the new culture instilled by John Harbaugh is enough to overcome losing Dart so early in the season.
