There is no denying that Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the history of the NFL.
Allen does stuff on a weekly basis that drops jaws and makes some of the best athletes in the world look like ordinary people. There are also instances, though, that make Bills fans scratch their heads and wonder if their quarterback was trying to do too much.
The latter of those two instances happened Sunday in Buffalo's 29-26 loss to the New England Patriots, and it came at the worst possible time.
With the Bills trailing 29-26 and under two minutes remaining in the game, Allen and the offense took the field looking to have a game-winning drive in the fourth quarter for a second straight game.
Instead, though, the drive resulted in a careless interception from Allen and helped New England seal the game and get its first win of the season. The play started with Allen somehow escaping a sack but finished with a horrific game-losing interception.
Allen nearly had one of the most careless and mind-boggling interceptions on an earlier pass attempt that fell incomplete. While it looked cool and made for a great post on social media, it could've been a detrimental play and something that just can't happen in Year No. 9 of Allen's career.

The last time Buffalo took the field in the 2025-26 season was a 33-30 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos. In that game, the Bills were plagued by Allen's turnovers, as he threw two interceptions and lost two fumbles.
One of those turnovers was a fumble at the end of the first half and happened when Allen was carelessly running around with the football, something that allowed it to easily be knocked out.

After two total turnovers on Sunday, Buffalo now has seven turnovers in its previous two games. That is an extreme amount in a two-week span and the Bills are lucky they were able to win last week's game despite five turnovers.
The turnover issues are something that will need to be fixed if Buffalo has any hopes of making a deep postseason run. That includes the careless and unnecessary turnovers from Allen like the one that cost his team the game on Sunday.
