CeeDee Lamb reveals mindset after career-high performance in Cowboys' win over Texans

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb produced a performance worthy of Offensive Player of the Year Award votes as he helped the club earn a gritty 34-30 win over the Houston Texans that improved Dallas to 2-2 on Sunday afternoon.

Following the victory, Lamb suggested that his best outings of the campaign could be to come after he recorded 189 receiving yards on a career-high 17 catches and a game-winning touchdown against the Texans.

CeeDee Lamb has records in mind after win over Texans

"Honestly, right now, I can't really fathom it, but I will say I am grateful for the opportunity," Lamb said about his play in Houston, per Patrik Walker of the Cowboys' website. "It's a lot of emotions going through me right now, and as far as preparing for the next game, that's kind of how I motivate myself: 'What can I possibly do with the next game to capitalize off this one?' But a moment of gratitude, I'm definitely happy to be in this position.
I'm happy for the opportunity, and I'm looking forward to breaking more records. That's no nothing toward the guys that're ahead of me, but I'm coming."

Lamb was referencing how he ended the weekend fourth on the Cowboys’ all-time receiving yards list (7,914). Lamb now trails Tony Hill by just 74 yards for third place on that list, so it's possible that Lamb could leapfrog Hill when the Cowboys host the 0-4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers this coming Thursday night. As of Monday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook had Dallas as a massive 10-point home favorite for that game.

With 40 seconds remaining in regulation of Sunday's matchup, Lamb reeled in a 12-yard Dak Prescott pass to help put the Cowboys up by four points. The Dallas defense then did well to ensure the Texans would not produce any late offensive heroics.

"The end goal for me was the score, and we walk off and feel victorious [Sunday]," Lamb added during his postgame comments. "So, just going throughout the game, man, and just coming up for the team — a lot of third down conversions that we had that I felt like I was a part of, and I was moving the sticks; and that's the end goal."

Dak Prescott "super proud" of CeeDee Lamb after win

Meanwhile, the previously mentioned Prescott seemed unsurprised that Lamb largely looked unstoppable at Houston's Reliant Stadium.

"Super, super proud of him," Prescott said of Lamb. "[I've been] watching that guy since the time he was drafted and watching everything that he puts into this game: his demeanor, his spirit, his mentality, every game, going back to the offseason and every game this season. He's been on it. And that's just who he is."

The combination of Prescott and Lamb could put on quite a show in front of a prime-time audience while playing against a Tampa Bay team that seemingly is circling the drain regarding the ongoing season.
