Jameis Winston describes the 'Jameis Winston experience' after Giants' win over Cardinals

New York Giants fans witnessed what has been playfully referred to over the years as the full "Jameis Winston experience" during the club's 36-24 win over the Arizona Cardinals that improved New York to 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Following his club's Week 4 victory, the Giants' current QB1 was asked to "describe the Jameis Winston experience" to those who watched his latest roller-coaster ride of a performance.

Jameis Winston: It's a "privilege" to serve as a starting NFL quarterback

"Well, my experience, it functions from gratitude," Winston explained, per the Giants' website. "So, every time I'm out there, you know, it's a privilege for me to go out there and play. You know, there are only 32 quarterbacks that are starters in the NFL. So, that's a privilege. It is. So, my experience is just to go out there and glorify the kingdom of God, man, and be my very best. That's my experience. That's the experience that I'm living."

Winston is starting for the Giants because first-choice option Jaxson Dart will miss at least the rest of the regular season due to a knee injury. That said, the Giants acquired 2024 first-round draft pick J.J. McCarthy from the Minnesota Vikings last week, and some seem to think that New York head coach John Harbaugh will turn to McCarthy if Winston loses more than he wins over the next handful of contests.

Against the Cardinals, Winston tossed a pair of interceptions. However, he also completed 18-of-29 pass attempts for 250 yards and three touchdowns to help the club earn its third victory in four tries this season.

"When I read it, I really don't read it," Winston added about the so-called "Jameis Winston experience." "I more so hear it. I think it's just a thing that people say, and they laugh and joke about it. But at the end of the day, my desire is to continue to get better. And my desire is to be the best that I can be. And that's what I'm focused on. Not an experience, even though it's an amazing experience to be out there playing."

Jameis Winston focused on the positives after latest win

Winston played well enough against Arizona to start the Giants' Week 5 road game at the rival Washington Commanders on Oct. 11. As of Monday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook had New York as a three-point underdog against 1-3 Washington.

As for Winston, he sounded relieved to finally throw some touchdown passes after he failed to find the end zone over his last two performances following Dart's injury.

"We all know that getting the ball in the end zone is the key," Winston added. "You know, touchdown is one of the most proudest moments for any team, offense, defense, special teams, whatever. So, that does feel good. But at the end of the day, all that matters is you're 1-0, right? But you always want six points."

If Winston continues to lead the Giants on multiple touchdown drives per game, he could start over McCarthy through the fall.
