Aaron Glenn sends message to Jets fans after ugly loss to Bears

The New York Jets fell to 1-3 on the season when they suffered an ugly 23-12 loss at a Chicago Bears side starting backup quarterback Tyson Bagent on Sunday.

While speaking with reporters on Monday, second-year Jets head coach Aaron Glenn sent a message to long-suffering fans of the franchise who may already be fearing that the club's campaign is circling the drain.

Aaron Glenn "focused on" trying to go 1-0 each week

"There are some positives coming out of this, and sometimes everybody focuses on the negative part of it," Glenn said about his team's Week 4 defeat, per Rich Cimini of ESPN. "But our deal, man, is we're going to make sure to try to continue to improve on that. And hopefully, from the outside, our fans will see that. Again, we're just looking at next week. We're just trying to go 1-0 each week. That's the only thing we're focused on."

The negatives regarding the Jets' performance at Soldier Field largely overshadowed any positives. ESPN stats show that the Bears outgained the Jets 492 to 157. Chicago had the ball for 42:45 in time of possession, while Gang Green possessed it for 17:15.

Under Glenn, the Jets have now gone 4-17 since the start of the 2025 season. New York's Week 1 victory over the lowly Tennessee Titans on Sept. 13 looks less impressive with each game winless Tennessee loses.

Meanwhile, the Jets began the season in sole possession of the longest active postseason drought among the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA and MLS at 15 years. While there's still time for Glenn's team to turn things around, there's currently no indication the Jets will be a postseason side come January.

Aaron Glenn:  Jets will "flush" loss to Bears

"And that's the only thing I want our fans to focus on," Glenn continued. "We're going to flush this game. We're going to move ahead."

As of Monday afternoon, DraftKings Sportsbook had the Jets as 1.5-point favorites for their Week 5 home game against the 3-1 Cleveland Browns on Oct. 11. If New York loses that contest, whispers about offensive coordinator Frank Reich potentially becoming the Jets' interim coach this fall could grow louder.
