The post-LaMelo Ball era for the Charlotte Hornets is already off to a rough start.
Less than two weeks after it was reported that both Kon Knueppel and Grant Williams had suffered injuries that may linger into the regular season, Charlotte was hit with another injury in training camp that also may carry over into regular-season action.
According to an update provided by Charlotte on Monday, it was revealed that projected starting point guard Coby White suffered a left calf strain during training camp.
Calf strains were something that plagued White multiple times last season, so Hornets fans could be worried about it continuing.
An update on the severity of White's calf strain has not yet been revealed, so a timeline for a possible return to action is not known.

It's hard to judge how long Coby White could be sidelined for without knowing what grade calf injury this is.

If it's a minor Grade 1 strain, White is looking at about 10-14 days before ramping up action and full practices.
The Hornets could be without him and Kon Knueppel. https://t.co/wtsYpZPg7w
If indeed both White and Knueppel are forced to miss the start of the season, Charlotte's offseason provided it with veteran players who could step right into those starting roles with no issues.
Two trade acquisitions, Dennis Schroder and Grayson Allen, would likely be the two players who were asked to slide into those starting spots. Those two have combined to start 720 games in their careers, making them excellent options to fill the roles if needed.

Grayson Allen has a very creative finishing package. He's got Pinoy steps, off-hand finishes, contortions, and deceleerations. He finished 67% of his rim attempts, a much-needed skill for Charlotte.

I truly think Allen will surprise fans with his overall game. pic.twitter.com/nFdUa4Jylg
White and Knueppel are expected to play a major role in the Hornets' success this season. They were both integral parts of the late-season surge that got Charlotte into the Play-In Tournament last season.
They'll certainly need to recover well and get back on the floor if Charlotte has any hopes of snapping a 10-year playoff drought.
