The Detroit Lions are 2-2 after their loss to the Carolina Panthers during "Sunday Night Football," 32-26, and the players and coaching staff are putting their heads together to figure out what they can do to turn things around.
Edge-rusher Aidan Hutchinson is a key part of the Lions' defense, and he's opening up about what the players are talking about after this loss. Hutchinson, who is on a four-year, $180 million deal with the Lions, is flat-out saying that "talk is cheap." He's also saying that he wants to move beyond the talk to action on the field and getting wins.
"I'm so tired of talk," Hutchinson said about the talk going on in the locker room while speaking during a radio interview on 97.1 The Ticket. "To me, talk is cheap. If you really want to do something, let's go win the ... game and make the plays we need to make."
So, what does the team have to do differently? Hutchinson was frank that he's not entirely sure yet.
"I'm not sure right now," Hutchinson said. "I'm kind of still analyzing and trying to figure out what is going wrong."
Hutchinson also promised fans that if they stick around, they'll be rewarded.
"I know we're going to figure it out," Hutchinson said. "And when we do, when we're clicking on all cylinders."
As for stats, Hutchinson has collected eight total tackles, 3.5 sacks and one forced fumble in the team's first four games. His comments sound like a player who doesn't really know what to do about the Lions' difficulties right now, but he's determined to figure it out.
With the team going up against the 1-3 Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, they'll absolutely have to pull off a win, or else they could really be in a free fall.
