Jordan Morgan knows how Packers can quiet Ben Johnson, Bears

The Green Bay Packers know there's only one way to deal with the bravado coming from the Chicago Bears and their head coach, Ben Johnson.

Sure, they were chapped that Johnson made his thoughts on the Packers clear last January after the Bears beat the Pack in the wild-card round of the playoffs.

Johnson ran into his locker room after the win and made a declaration that rang throughout Wisconsin.

"F--- the Packers. F--- them. I f---ing hate those guys," screamed Johnson after Chicago's 31-27 wild-card win.

Months later, those words still reverberate with the Packers.

"Yeah. I mean, he's dissing us. He's dissing the Packers. A lot of people in here, I'm pretty sure, take that to heart," said starting left tackle Jordan Morgan on Wednesday.

The Packers didn't like it, and one has to wonder if the guys in the locker room aren't exactly pumped up by head coach Matt LaFleur's tepid response to the heat Johnson is putting up in his historic rivalry.

With that said, Morgan, LaFleur and everyone at 1265 Lombardi Ave know the best way to deal with trash talk coming out of Chicago is to beat the Bears.

That's something they haven't done in two out of their last three tries, so the pressure is on.

"We got a chance to prove to everybody on Sunday that we're the best team," Morgan said.

While the Packers have home-field advantage in this matchup, the Bears have actually opened up as the 2.5-point favorite over Green Bay.

Green Bay Packers have respect for Tyson Bagent

That's even with the Bears planning on starting backup Tyson Bagent as starting quarterback Caleb Williams nurses a hamstring injury.

“I see a really good quarterback,” LaFleur said of Bagent on Wednesday. “He throws with anticipation. He gets the ball out of his hands. He goes to the right spots. So, I mean, I know he’s their backup, but he could start for many teams in the league.”

The Packers, 2-2, have had trouble all season, while the Bears, at 3-1, look like they could be a contender in the NFC if Williams is able to come back healthy and resume his high level of play.

In the meantime, you can bet that Johnson is going to keep the pedal to the metal against LaFleur and the Packers no matter who is under center.

If he can pull off another win, he'll have plenty of reason to gloat. The Packers are desperately trying to avoid that situation.
