Jacob Misiorowski claims that Brewers fans are driving force behind his success

Following the Milwaukee Brewers' 2-1 victory in Game 1 of the NLCS over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday, Jacob Misiorowski revealed what's helped fuel his success.

''The Miz'' spoke with MLB Network's Jon Morosi, stating, "To have a city like this behind you, it helps immensely. I don't think these people realize it, but it fuels me."

The 24-year-old ace's relationship with the fans has blossomed following his 2026 breakout campaign, where he solidified his status as one of the top flamethrowers in MLB.

Misiorowski finished the regular season leading the league with a 1.80 ERA and 252 strikeouts and is the favorite for the NL Cy Young Award.

Jacob Misiorowski praises fans despite not having his best stuff

Even though Misiorowski didn't have his best stuff on the mound in Game 1, the Brewers bullpen came up big when it mattered the most, providing shutdown innings of relief.

The Dodgers racked up Misiorowski's pitch count, and he exited after throwing 94 pitches across 4 1/3 innings and giving up five hits, one earned run, three walks and five strikeouts.

But Misiorowski told Morosi that the excited crowd helped him to battle in the game. In the second inning, when he threw six consecutive balls, the fan base encouraged him despite him losing his command and throwing 35 pitches.

He commenced the second inning by throwing four balls in a row that allowed Shohei Ohtani to walk. He then followed by throwing two more balls to Kyle Tucker and ended up also walking him. While he did give up a single to Andy Pages that provided the Dodgers with a 1-0 lead, he was able to escape the inning by getting Kike Hernandez to hit into an inning-ending double play.

But thanks to a home run from Brice Turang in the bottom of the fourth and efficient small ball with Luis Lara singling in the bottom of the fifth, the Brewers snagged Game 1 from the Dodgers. All things considered, the moral of the story is that when you have the fans on your side, they help to motivate you even when you aren't performing at an elite level.
