Each and every season, the San Francisco 49ers seem to deal with more injuries than any other team in the NFL.
That trend has continued this season, with the San Francisco wide receiver room constantly suffering injuries week after week. That situation further played out Sunday with Deebo Samuel going down with a hamstring injury, and the severity and timeline of his injury have now been revealed.
According to 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan, Samuel is expected to miss 'at least a couple of weeks' with the hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday's 32-29 win over the Seattle Seahawks.
Samuel is just the latest San Francisco receiver who will miss time due to injury, joining De'Zhaun Stribling, Christian Kirk, Ricky Pearsall and Demarcus Robinson.

So far this season, the use of running back Christian McCaffrey has been lower than in previous years. McCaffrey ranks 23rd in carries (61) and 17th in rushing yards (286). San Francisco has seemed hesitant to heavily involve McCaffrey in the offense, but that could certainly change soon with all the injuries taking place.
McCaffrey's season high in carries so far is 15, a number he surpassed in 12 of 17 regular-season games last year. Even with the 49ers having success without McCaffrey running well, it may be time to make that a focal point of the offense while the receiver room gets healthy.
Speaking of getting healthy, the San Francisco offense could be nearly impossible to stop when it gets back to full health. It's already been tough to stop through five weeks, and that is with consistent injuries affecting the depth and rotations that Shanahan is able to use.
The 49ers have started 5-0 under Shanahan (2019, 2023), and they reached the Super Bowl in both of those seasons; if they are able to get back to full strength, history may very well repeat itself in 2026.
