Mississippi State Bulldogs quarterback Kamario Taylor may not be able to play in Week 7 as his No. 16-ranked team looks to take on Lane Kiffin and the No. 22 LSU Tigers.
Taylor is a sophomore from Macon, Mississippi, and he's been a massive part of the Bulldogs' surprise 4-1 season.
He's thrown for 1,450 yards and 17 touchdowns with just four interceptions while also rushing for 159 yards and a touchdown.
Taylor hurt his foot earlier this season, though, and it was bugging him in Mississippi State's last game, a loss to Alabama.
The Bulldogs had a week off heading into this massive clash with LSU, but even with the extra time off, reports suggest that Taylor may not be able to play in this one.
This is according to Pete Thamel of ESPN:
Sources: Mississippi State quarterback Kamario Taylor’s status for the game at LSU on Saturday is in flux. A decision on whether he’ll play will be made later in the week. He’s dealing with a foot injury from earlier this year that clearly impacted him against Alabama on Oct. 3. pic.twitter.com/NCGyCOJ4y6

Head coach Jeff Lebby was also evasive about Taylor when speaking to the media on Monday.
”We will let the availability report speak to that," he said of Taylor's status, per Jacob Bain of 247Sports. ”The focus is on getting him ready to play.”
If Mississippi State doesn't have Taylor for the LSU game, it would be a massive blow to their ability to pick up yet another massive SEC win.
This team beat No. 19 Missouri, 31-24, earlier in the year, and they also played the Tide rather tough.
Wins over LSU, Oklahoma and Texas would certainly propel Mississippi State into the College Football Playoff picture, but they need to focus on LSU first, and that's going to be easier said than done if Taylor can't play.
