GM shares more bad news for Tyreek Hill about potential return to NFL amid Chiefs rumors

A recent report indicated that the Kansas City Chiefs and other NFL teams could pass on signing wide receiver Tyreek Hill amid fears that he could face a suspension after he admitted in a civil trial related to allegations of domestic violence that he "pushed" his estranged wife "against the wall" during an incident that occurred following their April 2025 separation.

For a Casino.org article published on Tuesday, NFL insider Jason La Canfora spoke with one unnamed general manager who made it clear his club won't be signing Hill this fall.

Tyreek Hill a "no-go" for at least one NFL team

"He’s a no-go for us," that GM said about Hill. "Who’s going to sign him with the domestic stuff going on, and the (divorce) trial? No way. Nobody is going to pursue that, except maybe (Chiefs head coach Andy Reid)."

Hill is still recovering from the gruesome knee injury he suffered while with the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 29, 2025, and it's believed he won't be ready to play before November at the earliest. Meanwhile, the Chiefs have been linked with pass-catchers since the summer, and Hill played under Reid from 2016 through the 2021 season.

Chiefs could do more than just add Tyreek Hill?

The Chiefs were previously mentioned as a potential landing spot for Marvin Harrison Jr. until the Arizona Cardinals traded him to the Houston Texans. Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. and Jerry Jeudy of the Cleveland Browns could also be options for the Chiefs before the trade deadline arrives on Nov. 10.

"From what we gather," La Canfora explained, "the Chiefs are in the market to add more than one pass-catcher...Expect them to be as aggressive as any team in the league in terms of adding a playmaker on offense. They also have more of a stomach for players with significant off-field issues, including their former All-Pro receiver Tyreek Hill, who is trying to come back from injury at a time when he’s continued to have legal problems amid allegations of domestic violence."

The 4-0 Chiefs are coming off their bye and will next host the 0-5 Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 18. It remains to be seen whether Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes will get a new target before that game begins.

As of Tuesday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook had the Chiefs as 8.5-point home favorites over the Chargers.
