After an up-and-down start to the season, the Florida Panthers exploded for seven goals on Tuesday night.
And the Panthers' 7-3 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets was fueled by the Tkachuk brothers, most notably the newcomer to the team.
Brady Tkachuk, who joined his brother, Matthew, in Florida thanks to an offseason trade from Ottawa, found the back of the net for the first time as a member of the Panthers. But he then found it twice more as well. So his first goal with his new team led to an eventual hat trick and four-point night.
Brady had only recorded one lone point off an assist in his previous six games to start the season.
"It’s a great feeling, but I’m just more happy with the two points for the team," Brady said about his Panthers coming-out party.

Adding five more points to the Tkachuk family total in the game, Matthew matched his career-high for points in a single game, all assists on his brother's goals. He now has 10 points off three goals and seven helpers on the year.

Brady Tkachuk became the first player in NHL history to score a natural hat trick where his brother assisted on all three goals.

But most importantly for the Panthers, they won the game, doing it as a response to their 5-3 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Monday. Because even with the victory, the Panthers are only 3-2-2 and have yet to look anything close to the unstoppable dominant juggernaut many expected them to be.
However, Florida finally finding a rhythm offensively coincided with losses by both Ottawa and Tampa Bay, allowing the Panthers to keep pace in the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division and sit tied with the Lightning and just two points back of the Senators in the way-too-early-to-keep-track-of standings.
