Golden State Warriors big man Kristaps Porzingis has been absent all offseason with a mysterious health situation, leaving questions about when he will be able to return to the court.
With his absence drawing the attention of the NBA world, Porzingis provided an update on his health that offered some insight into what he has been dealing with and what could come next as he works toward getting back to action.
Porzingis took to social media Wednesday to give a further explanation on his absence from training camp and preseason action. While the update did reveal that Porzingis will still be out indefinitely, there were still some positive things to take from the update.
"Hello people, I'm working with doctors and experts to figure out how to be fully back to good health asap. Honestly, I'm getting better and better. I just have to stay patient, and I believe I'll be feeling great again soon," Porzingis wrote. "It has definitely been frustrating dealing with some health stuff that you can't exactly pinpoint, on top of injuries throughout my career, so it has added up for sure, but we will get through it. Health is wealth. Thank you for all the support."

It has definitely been frustrating dealing with some…
The health issues and absence from camp comes just a few months after Porzingis signed a two-year, $40 million extension to remain in Golden State through the 2027-28 season.

Porzingis was acquired by the Warriors from the Atlanta Hawks last season, and he performed well in his limited action. In 15 games, Porzingis averaged 16.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
He did struggle from three-point range (31.1%) but was still able to find a way to score and help his team not only offensively, but defensively as well.
One of Porzingis' best performances as a Warrior last season was in their NBA play-in tournament win over the Los Angeles Clippers when he stuffed the stat sheet, posting 20 points, five rebounds, five assists, two blocks and a steal.

With Porzingis sidelined, Golden State's big man duo off the bench will likely be the recently acquired Georges Niang at power forward and Al Horford at center.
If and when he is able to return, Porzingis will likely split time with Horford at the center position or even fully take over that bench spot if he's coming back to average 16 points per game like he did last season.
Ultimately, the health of Porzingis is the most important thing, and he should only return when he is 100% ready and capable of doing so. Until then, getting his health issues straightened out should be his No. 1 priority.
